Timeline

WallCAP was funded in its development phase, which ran from October 2017 until June 2018, by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Our second-stage application for funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund was successful, and the delivery of WallCAP was planned to run from October 2018 until September 2021. In the end, the project initially ran from January 2019 to December 2021, but we then received a 9 month extension, to the end of September 2022, due to the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the delivery of the project.

Activities and projects were offered across the length of the Hadrian’s Wall corridor, from Tyneside to the Cumbrian coast, for the duration of the project.
