The papers held at Newcastle are a substantial repository of the personal papers and plans of Thomas Sharp (1901-1978). The major part of the collection consists of papers collected from Sharp's Oxford house upon his death. Rachel, Sharp's sister, gave the collection to the University. Their significance was recognised and they were deposited with the University Library's Special Collections by John Pendlebury. Recently acquired for the collection are copies of documents and original items from Patrick Horsbrugh.
