What are the current risks to the future preservation of Hadrian’s Wall?
How are they affecting the Wall?
What can be done to mitigate or reduce these risks?
These are the questions that will be answered in the Heritage At Risk strand of the project.
We will investigate sites that have been damaged or destroyed in the past, as well as those facing a contemporary threat. Through fieldwork, we will understand the nature and extent of these risks, and where possible, we will reduce or otherwise mitigate risks to the conservation of the site, so that the World Heritage Site will continue to be enjoyed by future generations.
